WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Consultation

Your office visit will begin with an in-depth consultation with Dr. Helena Gemayel Azzi, D.N.P.  We would like to learn as much about your presentation as possible. Your initial consultation will include an in-depth allergy presenting history. This will include an environmental history. We will also review your general medical history, family history and social history. The consultation will be followed by a non-invasive physical examination.  Please allow approximately one hour for your visit.

 

Testing

Any necessary testing will be reviewed in detail. During your first consultation office visit you may be asked to perform a breathing test, called spirometry or pulmonary function testing. Allergy skin testing is usually scheduled on the second visit (on some occasions allergy testing is done on the first visit). Some patients are candidates for skin patch testing. Some patients are candidates for radiographic studies including a sinus CT scan and/or Chest X-rays. Some patients are candidates for blood tests.

 

Conference

After all tests, the results will be reviewed in detail with the patient and treatment modalities will be discussed.

 

 

 

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring your driver's license, insurance card and any necessary referral or documentation from your referring provider. Also bring a list of your current medicines. Please bring a list of any medicines to which you may be allergic.

 

 

 

APPOINTMENTS

To schedule an appointment, please call the office during office hours. In urgent matters, every effort will be made to schedule your appointment the same day. Every effort is made to stay on schedule and keep office waiting time to a minimum. You will be very happy with the promptness of your scheduled appointment.

Periodically, we enroll in new plans so if your insurance carrier is not listed, please contact your insurance company by calling the number on the back of your insurance card to verify our participation in your plan. We accept most commercial insurance and are willing to consider participation in any plan you might suggest.
